Welcome to my website! My creative outlet, Arctic Artisan, is rebranded and relaunched. I took a break and now I'm back. During my art hiatus my mom has started beading with me, and it's incredibly special to share this journey with all of you.

Arctic Artisan is a reflection of Indigenous Values and Pride, and evolving with our culture in a modern society. We are a refusal to let go of our traditional and ancestral ways, in a world where erasure of our bloodlines was once the objective.

When I started my art journey I began curating every book I can find and afford that has to do with Yup’ik and Inuit culture. My ancestors, in almost every book, express their concerns of losing our culture to our modern world. My hopes are to try to help in any way I can, and my plans are to keep learning and teaching.

I am blessed to work with many mediums including ethically sourced walrus ivories, bowhead baleen, moose & caribou antler, musk ox horn, sealskin and sealgut, various leathers, furs and beads. All walrus ivory, bowhead whale baleen and sealskin is legally obtained or harvested from my ancestral lands in Alaska.

Quyana, thank you. Thank you for being here to support this journey.
